Description	:	LYNCH - Services for Maxine Counts, 89, of Lynch will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Assumption Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church here with burial in the parish cemetery and the Rev. Tim Podraza officiating. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Brockhaus Funeral Home in Spencer with an 8 p.m. wake. She died Tuesday, May 19, 2009, at Niobrara Valley Hospital. Memorials go to the Counts Scholarship Fund. --- L. Maxine Counts, daughter of Elmer and Hazel (Arnold) Nordquist, was born Jan. 18, 1920, at Anoka. She graduated from Butte High School with the class of 1937. In May of 1946, she was married to Raymond E. Counts at Lynch. Two children were born to this union, Randy and Dana. Raymond and Maxine owned Counts Grocery in Lynch for many years before Maxine joined Three River Telco in 1971. She retired from Three River Telco after more than 25 years of service. She was a member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Lynch and its Altar Society. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and other various community groups. Survivors include her son, Randy Counts and his wife, Marti of California; daughter Dana Jaques and her husband, Leonard of Minnesota; six grandchildren, Jessie, Chase, Adam, Brandon, Clarissa and Deidra; one great-grandchild, Jaden; sisters Helen Friedrich of California and Vern Jons and her husband, Alvin of South Dakota. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, and a grandson, Allen.
