Mr. Lancaster, a native of the Buie community of Robeson County, moved to Greenville in 1957. He worked with Colonial Stores for several years prior to working for 35 years with the U.S. Postal Service, where he retired as supervisor of the postal clerks in 1996. He had recently worked part time for Colombo, Kitchin, Dunn, Ball and Porter law firm. A devoted husband, father, brother, neighbor and Christian man, he was a founding member of Faith and Victory Church, having served as an elder, member of the church board and as head usher. He was an avid golfer and fisherman. Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Bessie Mills Lancaster; son, Timothy Jennings Lancaster of Greenville; granddaughter, Kayla Jennifer Anderson of Greenville; and brother, Jimmy Lancaster of Burlington. The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Wilkerson Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Faith and Victory Church, 3950 Victory Lane, Winterville, NC 28590.
