Description	:	Lamar and Mildred Hewitt were married July 30, 1954. Services for Lamar Collins, 65, will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 310 Gator Road, Gaston, conducted by the Reverend Robert Junior Roland and the Reverend Robert Britt with burial at the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Andy Mason, Steve Hardy, Mike Butler, Wayne Schockley, John Kinsey and Eric Bosserman. Honorary pallberarers will be the Men of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Mr. Collins died Friday, August 31, 2001. Born in Conway, he was a son of the late Lanneau and Annie Agnes McCrackin Collins. A lifetime resident, Mr. Collins was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church where he served on the ushering committee, building and grounds committee, and was a member of the Adult Sunday School Class. He retired from Ft. Jackson Civil Service in 1993. Surviving are his wife, Mildred Hewitt Collins of Elgin; daughters, Dorothy Watson of Elgin, Elaine Smith of Virginia Beach, Va., Bonnie Reagan of Chesapeake, Va.; son, Danny Lamar Collins of Elgin; sisters, Annie Bell Collins of Blackwell, Va., Aughtry Stroud of Marion; brothers, Horace Collins and William Collins, both of Loris, Truluck Collins of Florida, George Everette Collins of Loris; 17 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
