Description	:	L.B. YAW DEAD Passes Away of Heart Failure at his Home Tuesday Night L.B. Yaw died suddenly of heart failure at his home in this city Tuesday evening about nine o'clock. Mr. Yaw had been helping thresh during the day on Sunnyside Farm for J.K. Santee. In the evening he rode to town with Mr. Santee and sat down and read the Sentinel. He began to gasp for breath and died almost instantly. The funeral was Friday afternoon at 2:30 at the home. The services were conducted by Rev. F. C. Witzigman and burial was made in Union Cemetery. LaMay B. Yaw was born in Ashtabula County, Ohio, Sept. 17, 1850. At the age of three years he was orphaned by the loss of his mother. His father then removed to Lafayette Co, Wisconsin. He grew to manhood and was marred to Miss Eliza Huntington at Hazel Green, Feb. 20, 1873. Two children came to share the blessings of this home. In 1883 Mr. Yaw came to Iowa and settled in Franklin County. Remaining ten years on the farm, he moved to Iowa Falls in 1893, where he maintained continuous residence till his death. Mr Yaw was a strong member of the Methodist Church and lived a good life. He leaves to mourn his death, his wife, his son, Harry Yaw of Cedar Rapids, and his daughter, Mrs. Charles O. Wilson of Rockford, Illinois, and two bothers, Harvey Yaw of Alexander and Joseph Yaw of Fort Collins, Colorado. Both children with their families were present for the funeral. Mr. Yaw was a man of few words and he was of a genial disposition. He had a keen interest in education and for eight years rendered service on the school board of Hamilton township. He proved himself a true neighbor, always ready to do a kindly turn. It can be truly said of him that he was a substantial citizen, a devoted husband and a noble father. Mr. Yaw was a man of deep religious life. He had been a regular attendant of the Methodist Church for many years and under his convictions of the truth of the gospel sought to fashion his life.
