Description	:	Lamont Allan Karr was the son of Roscoe A Karr and Emma Hahlweg. On January 3, 1928, Lamont was born on a farm in Wanda Township, Adams County, Nebraska, located one mile north and one-half mile east of Highway 6 and 24 - Holstein Junction. Lamont was brought into the spiritual family of the Lord through baptism on January 29, 1928, at Zion Lutheran Church, Wanda Township. Pastor Arthur W Wilk officiated. On January 3, 1928, Lamont was born on a farm in Wanda Township, Adams County, Nebraska, located one mile north and one-half mile east of Highway 6 and 24 - Holstein Junction. Lamont was brought into the spiritual family of the Lord through baptism on January 29, 1928, at Zion Lutheran Church, Wanda Township. Pastor Arthur W Wilk officiated. The sponsors were Alma and Ella Hahlweg. On April 6, 1941, Pastor A W Wilk also conducted the rite of confirmation at Zion Lutheran and Lamont was received into communicant membership. He attended the Zion Parochial School and was a member of Zion Lutheran all his life. On November 15, 1953, Lamont was united in marriage to Evelyn Alice Dieken. Pastor Paul Defreese of St Paul - Hastings officiated at the ceremony. The couple established their home on a farm in Wanda Township. Later the family moved to the farm where the Karrs are presently located. The marriage was blessed with two sons and a daughter. Lamont served his Lord and the church as trustee and Sunday School Superintendent. Besides farming, he also was an Auto mechanic and a used car dealer. A business trip of Kearney this past week ended up in an emergency trip to Hastings and a quick transfer to the University Hospital in Omaha. Emergency surgery was performed the evening of November 28th. The Lord called Lamont to Himself on Thursday morning, November 29, 1984. Preceding Lamont in death are his parents. Surviving member are: brothers Delvin, Holstein NE and Paul, Kenesaw, NE, sister Darbue Einspahr, Kenesaw, NE, and brother Eugene, Westminister, Co; his wife Evelyn, Kenesaw, NE; two sons - Bruce and wife Marcia, Bladen, NE, Byron and wife Karla, Grand Island, NE, daughter Evonne and husband Arthur Borrell, Jr., Hastings, NE; and grandchildren - Jason, Travis and Danielle. Burial will be at the Zion Lutheran cemetery.
