Description	:	Lana Marshall Metzinger, 90, of Montrose died at 11:58 a.m. Friday, Nov. 26, 2010, in Keokuk Area Hospital, surrounded by family. She was born on Sept. 14, 1920, in Montrose, the daugher of Albert and Eunice Newhouse Marshall. She married Bud Metzinger, her high school sweetheart, on Feb. 22, 1941. Read More	Lana Marshall Metzinger, 90, of Montrose died at 11:58 a.m. Friday, Nov. 26, 2010, in Keokuk Area Hospital, surrounded by family. She was born on Sept. 14, 1920, in Montrose, the daugher of Albert and Eunice Newhouse Marshall. She married Bud Metzinger, her high school sweetheart, on Feb. 22, 1941. He preceded her in death in 2004. Mrs. Metzinger was a lifelong resident of Montrose. She worked at the Montrose Post Office for 30 years, the last 15 as its postmaster. She dearly loved her job. She was a past president of the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women and an active member of the St. Joseph's Alter and Rosary Society and the Daughters of Isabella. Mrs. Metzinger was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Surivors include; three daughter, Deanna, Smith, Debbie(Steve) Fraise and Danita (Dave) Washburn, all of Montrose; two sons, Bill (Sue) Metzinger III of Quincy, Ill., and Bbb (Karne) Metzinger of Dunlap, Ill.; 13 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Harold Marshall of Irvin, Pa., and Richard Marshall of Montrose; and two sisters, Sonia Bye of Cedar Rapids and Gwen Miller of Danville. She also was preceded in death by her parents, a sister and two brothers. Her family and all who knew her were blessed by her many kindnesses and her generous heart. Visitation is after 2 p.m. today at King-Lynk Funeral Home and Crematory, Fort Madison, with family receiving friends from 5 to 7:30 p.m. and the rosary and wake service to immediately follow. A mass of Christian burial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Montrose, with Rev. Mark P. Spring and Gerald Hoenig officiating. Burial will be in the Montrose Cemetery. A memorial has been established. Contributions may be left at King-Lynk Funeral Home or at the church the day of the service.
