Visitation will continue an hour prior to services in the church.. Larry Allen Becker was born May 4, 1949 in Valley City, North Dakota, the son of Clifford and Elverna (Oglesby) Becker. He attended North Central of Barnes and graduated from high school there in 1967. He graduated from Valley City State University in 1971. He worked for Cargill the past 28 years in Spiritwood, North Dakota.. He was an avid sports fan, his favorite team was the New York Yankees and Mickey Mantle was his favorite player. He played softball for many years, was a "golfer," and hunted ducks and geese.. Larry was a kind and gentle man. He will be missed by his children, Lindsay Becker and Eric Becker, both of Fargo, North Dakota; his mother, Elverna Becker of Valley City; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Kevin & Janell of Dazey, North Dakota and Mark & Laura of Valley City; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Carol & Jerry Moritz of Valley City, Connie & Greg Urness of Cando, North Dakota, and Colleen & Dan Werkhoven of Valley City; and many nieces and nephews.. He was preceded in death by his father, Clifford; and two nephews, Shanon and Robert.. Jerry Moritz, Dan Werkhoven, Greg Urness, Mark Fitzner, Bill McNierney, and Lucas Jacobson will honor Larry's memory and serve as pallbearers at his funeral service.. Funeral arrangements are with Oliver-Nathan Funeral Chapel, Valley City.
