Description	:	Larry D. Laabs was born on June 30, 1945 in Watertown, South Dakota the son of Harold and Carol (Rhody) Laabs. He died on Saturday, May 10, 2003 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Sioux Falls at the age of 57 years. Larry joined the United States Army at the age of 18 years, and served as a heavy equipment operator in Korea. He was united in marriage to Mary Lynn Pederson on November 23, 1973. Laabs was born on June 30, 1945 in Watertown, South Dakota the son of Harold and Carol (Rhody) Laabs. He died on Saturday, May 10, 2003 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Sioux Falls at the age of 57 years. Larry joined the United States Army at the age of 18 years, and served as a heavy equipment operator in Korea. He was united in marriage to Mary Lynn Pederson on November 23, 1973. After their marriage he was employed in construction, laying pipelines and also as a police officer for the city of Lake Preston, SD. He was an excellent craftsman, and enjoyed painting, building and woodworking, fishing, reading, working on automobiles and especially spending time with family and friends. Larry is survived by his three children, Nicole Hanson (Joe) of Castlewood, SD, Krystalyn Laabs of Brookings, SD, Jeremy Laabs of Volga, SD; six grandchildren Kimberly, Nikolas,Zachery, Noah, Dalton, Hannah; his mother Carol Laabs of Brookings, SD; two sisters Alice Greenman (Chuck) of Longmont, CO, Patricia Gronseth (Thomas) of Milbank, SD; one brother Rodney Laabs (Jeanine) of Brookings, SD; and several nieces and nephews.
