The Rev. Eugene Schipper will officiate at the services. Larry Otten of Cedar Rapids and formerly of Monticello died Monday, May 8, 1995 from injuries received in a fall. Larry Otten was born May 12,1939 at Monticello, the son of James J. and Dorothy Streeper Otten. He graduated from the Onslow High School in 1956. He then started farming in Jones County. He married Bonnie Lee Mackey in October of 1956. He was employed with Wilson Foods in Cedar Rapids for several years. Larry Otten and Carolyn Siebels Van Amburg were married Sept. 19,1990. The couple made their home in Monticello where Larry was employed by Barnhart Construction. He later worked at All Side in Cedar Rapids and was currently employed by MCI. He had been a resident of Cedar Rapids for the last five years. Survivors include six children: Kathryn Otten of Monroe, N.C., Cindy DeMoss of Monmouth, Kelly Carr of Delmar, Lynette Otten of Stone City, and two sons, David Otten of Delmar and Daniel Otten of Cedar Falls; two stepchildren, Randall VamAmburg of Monticello and Lisa Ellison of Anamosa; 21 grandchildren, and a sister, Suzanne Dirks of Anamosa. He was preceded in death by his parents. Casket bearers are: Arnie Allamand, Don Eilers, Ralph Paulsen, Martin Haker, Doug DeMoss and Rickey Carr. Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello, is in charge of the arrangements.
