Read More	Larry George McClain, 54, of Phoenix, Arizona, and formerly of Indianapolis and Rosedale, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly in Lafayette, Louisiana while away on a work assignment. He was born on February 12, 1968 in Clinton, Indiana to James Norman and Georgia Louise (Nacke) McClain. Larry is survived by his fiancée, Lizbett C. Matusek and her daughter Tiffany J. Matusek of Phoenix, AZ; siblings, Kelly J. McClain Rogers of Bloomington, James Alan McClain and wife Amy McClain of Danville, IN, William L. McClain and wife Catherine Berner McClain of Switzerland; nieces and nephews, Amanda Wycoff, Thomas J. McClain, Damon Rogers, Shane Rogers, and Rebekah Rogers; his godson, Michael Felty Jr. and several great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a baby brother, Kevin Gene McClain. Larry was a 1986 graduate of Rosedale High School and earned his Bachelor's degree from Governor's State University. He proudly served in the United States Army for 12 years where at the rank of Sergeant, he honorably served his country from the United States, Panama and Korea as a Counterintelligence Agent. Following his passion and his leadership, Larry then worked as a law enforcement officer in and around Indianapolis. He most recently worked as a Biomedical Engineer for Trimedx where he was appreciated and valued by all his colleagues. Larry loved spending time with his family, his fiancée, friends, and his military buddies. He was an excellent cook and while an expert of his own recipes loved cooking or grilling for anyone who dared a spicy meal. With his love of trying new foods and regular travel, everyone was able to share those with him on his regular social media posts. When he was at home, he enjoyed gardening, especially growing strawberries and feeding the hummingbirds. Larry was an avid collector of whiskey and enjoyed military movies, shows, memorabilia, and regularly sharing his beloved Army memories with his loved ones and comrades alike. Larry was a most wonderful brother, uncle, companion, friend, and protector of others. His physical presence will be deeply missed but his spirit travels on. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, June 6 and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, June 7 at Mattox-Wood Funeral Home. A funeral ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, at the funeral home. Larry will be laid to rest in Rosedale Cemetery with military honors.
