Read More	SP4 UNITED STATES ARMY VIETNAM Larry Moseman was born in Fremont, Nebraska to Adolph and Katherine (Von Seggern) Moseman, the first member of the family to be born in a hospital. Larry was the youngest of four children, closer in age to his many nieces and nephews. He took great pride in having been made a great uncle many times over. He graduated from Scribner High school in 1969. Afterwards he attended the Grand Island School of Business before enlisting in the United States Army in 1970, serving mostly and proudly in the Third Armored Spearhead Division in Friedberg, Germany. While home on leave from the service, he married (Mary) Kathryn Jarvis in Neligh, Nebraska on October 9, 1971. After his time in the service, he attended Hastings Technical College before moving to Columbus in 1976. He worked for Dales and BD's before joining Loup Public Power District in 1985. He performed several duties while at Loup before becoming a meter relay technician at the Service Center, a position he would hold until he retired in 2008. He was active in many groups, organizations, and leagues around Columbus. He volunteered as a referee and coach for AYSO in the 80's (three first place championships!). His Tuesdays in the winter were spent with a cue shooting pool and his Tuesdays in summer with Spence shooting skeet with his over under for blue rock league. He enjoyed countless days out at Gilberts', hunting deer and processing thousands of pounds of deer with Jim in the Chop Shop. He took his grandkids hunting for mushrooms down in the Bottom and riding the river on a four-wheeler. Later, AJ or Gabe would drive him around. He was an active member of the American Legion Hartman Post 84 for over thirty-five years. As a member of the Legion he served as club president, was a member of the Forty and Eight club, and cooked an untold number of steaks over the years with Jim, Jerry, and Rullo. One of the positions he took perhaps the most solemn pride in, though, was as a member of the Honor Guard. Larry served on the Honor Guard for 16 years with 518 ceremonies. He was awarded the Keith Bryan Award which is the highest award one can receive from the Honor Guard. Larry was also awarded a Life Membership in The American Legion, which is the highest award a Post can give one of there members.
