Read More	Larry Miller, age 79, of Union, formerly of Whitten, died suddenly on Sunday, July 26, 2020, at Grundy County Memorial Hospital in Grundy Center. Services at Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Burial in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Born Larry Harlan Miller on April 10, 1941, in Marshalltown, he was the son of George Leonard Miller and Pearl (Cheville) Miller. He grew up in Marshalltown. On October 21, 1960, Larry married Janet Irene McCarthy. Together they moved to Whitten in 1977 and lived there for 36 years before moving to Union. They would have celebrated 60 years of marriage this fall. Larry worked in Special Assembly for Emerson - Fisher Controls from January of 1966 until his retirement in August of 1995. He was a member of the Fisher union. Larry enjoyed camping, fishing, and watching television and movies. His family lovingly called him “Grandpa Grouch,” “Scrooge,” and “Buddha.” He will be greatly missed by those who loved him. Survivors include his wife Janet; his sons Terry (Beverly) Miller and Justin (Laurie) Miller; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Larry was preceded in death by his parents George Miller and Pearl Boyd; his children in infancy, Jason and Rhonda Miller; and his grandsons Gavin Hildreth and Dylan Lane. Larry was laid to rest in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Marshalltown. Pallbearers were Chris Miller, Steven Miller, Brian Miller, Matthew Miller, Jason Miller, and Adam Miller. Honorary Pallbearers were Randy Brindle, Ben Rooker, Daniel Lane, Eddy Mason, Cory Wilken, and Christopher “Bubba” Wilken. Along with family and friends, groups from Whitten Fire Department and Lost Cause Motorcycle Club attended. Mitchell Family Funeral Home was entrusted with the care of Larry and his family.
