Description	:	Larry Howard White Sr., of Bertrand, Nebraska (formerly of rural Lexington, Nebraska) departed this life and entered The Eternal Home on November 15, 2009 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska following a courageous battle with cancer. Larry was 65 years of age having been born on May 13, 1944 on the family farm near Elwood in Gosper County, Nebraska, the son of Howard William and Betty Muriel (Lawhead) White. Larry was 65 years of age having been born on May 13, 1944 on the family farm near Elwood in Gosper County, Nebraska, the son of Howard William and Betty Muriel (Lawhead) White. Larry received his education from Lexington, Nebraska Public Schools. Following his education, the Lexington Mill and Elevator employed Larry for eighteen years. On June 22, 1963 he was united in marriage to Irene L. Chavez and to this union three children were born: Larry Jr., Randy and Carla. The family made their home east of Lexington, Nebraska where Larry enjoyed raising hogs and cows together with his brother, Roland White. He also enjoyed working out in his shop with his brother, Carl White. Larry also ran a Swather, cutting hay for several years. Later in years, he worked in Maintenance for the Comfort Inn, the Super 8 Motel and the Days Inn all in Lexington, Nebraska. On June 4, 2008, Larry was diagnosed with colon cancer and shortly thereafter Larry retired and the couple moved to Bertrand, Nebraska to be near family. Larry enjoyed watching western movies, tinkering in the shop on his 1925 Maxwell; loved to fish, and also enjoyed reading Louis Lamour western books and most of all loved spending time with his grandchildren. Larry is survived by wife, Irene White of Bertrand, Nebraska; children: Larry H. White, Jr. and his wife, Cheryl of Smithfield, Nebraska; Randy D. White of Smithfield, Nebraska and Carla Wilcox and her husband, T.J. of Holdrege, Nebraska; his mother, Betty White of Kearney, Nebraska; brothers: Carl White and his wife, Beverly of Overton, Nebraska, Roland White and his wife, Marlene of Bertrand, Nebraska and Nodle White of Kearney, Nebraska; sisters: Pamela Lee of Overton, Nebraska; Ronda K. Cowell and her husband, David of Chloride, Arizona and Glenda J. DeBarge and her husband, Paul of Lake Havasu, Arizona; and a host of relatives and friends. Larry was welcomed into The Heavenly Home: by his father, Howard W. White and his wife, Clara Mae White; brother, Lum Ray White at twelve years of age; stepfather, Lum White, Sr.; and granddaughter, Latasha Star White.
