Description	:	Larry L. Krzycki, of Grand Island, Nebraska, was raised to heaven, Thursday, May 9, 2013, from the V.A. Medical Center in Grand Island. Larry was born December 19, 1937 at Elba, Nebraska. He was the son of Zigmond Francis, Sr. & Emelia (Kaminski) Krzycki. Larry attended Elba (NE.) High School graduating in 1956. He entered the U. S. Marines on August 29, 1956 and served until his honorable discharge on August 28, 1958. After the service he lived in Omaha, Nebraskaworking at the Post Office and as a painter. Medical Center in Grand Island. Larry was born December 19, 1937 at Elba, Nebraska. He was the son of Zigmond Francis, Sr. & Emelia (Kaminski) Krzycki. Larry attended Elba (NE.) High School graduating in 1956. He entered the U. S. Marines on August 29, 1956 and served until his honorable discharge on August 28, 1958. After the service he lived in Omaha, Nebraskaworking at the Post Office and as a painter. Later he moved to Colorado and Montana as he loved the mountains and hunting. He came back to Nebraska living in North Platte, Nebraska siding houses and roofing. He eventually came to Grand Island, Nebraska doing mostly roofing. In 2001 Larry fell from a roof and severely injured his head. He spent the rest of his life dealing with those injuries. Larry was a member of Alcoholic Anonymous for 33 years. These men and women helped Larry through hard times befriending and guiding him. His sobriety was very important to him. Several of his sponsors played a big part in his recovery from alcohol and his injuries. Larry loved fishing and was an avid hunter. He loved getting out on Calamus Lake, in his boat, with his son or brothers, waiting to catch the "big one". He liked frying up a batch of catfish and making other dishes. He was an avid reader before his accident and loved to dance. He could really "jitterbug". Larry was preceded in death by: parents and brothers, Steve Douglas and Zigmond Francis, Jr. Krzycki. Survivors are: son, Jerimiah Krzycki of Grand Island, Nebraska and his fiancé, Jessica Oyen; grandson, Anthony Krzycki and granddaughters, Stacia and Muriah Krzycki; five sisters; two brothers a brother-in-law; two sister-in-laws and a host of relatives and friends. Inurnment was in St. Joseph's Cemetery at Elba, Nebraska. Grand Island Independent May 11, 2012
