Larry was born August 13, 1941, in Ottumwa, Iowa to Kenneth and Clara (Montgomery) Letcher. He grew up in the Alexandria area and then attended the Plano Consolidated School. Larry was born August 13, 1941, in Ottumwa, Iowa to Kenneth and Clara (Montgomery) Letcher. He grew up in the Alexandria area and then attended the Plano Consolidated School. He graduated from Plano High School in 1959. Following his graduation, he entered the United States Navy and served for 12 years. He married Pamale Graham on July 24, 1966, at Hoquiam, WA and they were later divorced. After his discharge, he moved to Mitchell. He married Mary Schulte on April 25, 1973, at Mitchell, SD. He was employed at Pack River Lumber Co. and was transferred to Missouri Valley, Iowa and then to Great Falls, Montana in 1976. He and Mary divorced. He was employed at a Hardware and Lumber Business in Great Falls, MT. Larry married Linda Van Buren on August 19, 1994 at Coeur D'Alene, Idaho. He began his career with the State of Montana at Shelby, MT. He was with the Carrier Enforcement Division and later transferred to Havre, MT, Glasgow, MT and finally to Haugen, MT area. He retired from the Montana Carrier Enforcement in September, 2003 after nine years. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, helping neighbors and enjoyed following the local high school teams. Larry is survived by his wife, Linda; his mother, Clara Letcher, of Alexandria; his children: Troy Letcher, Hoquiam, WA, Karmin Vines, Hoquiam, WA, Sarah (Mike) Miller, Moorhead, MN, Royce (Joyce) Haeder, Emery, SD, Janelle (Jason) Enfield, Mitchell, SD, Tim Van Buren, White Fish, MT, Amy Van Buren, Seattle, WA; six grandchildren; brothers: Jim (Lyla) Letcher, Eugene, OR, Roger (Jeanette) Letcher, Alexandria, SD, Mike (Vicki) Letcher, Parkston, SD, Kenneth "Duane" (Mary) Letcher, Alexandria, SD, Loren (Nancy) Letcher, Bettendorf, IA; sister, Rosanne (Jim) Okeson, Gillette, WY; and a sister-in-law, Suzie Letcher, White Lake, SD; special friends, Ray and Sonja, Superior, MT, Craig and Deb, Great Falls, MT, Jerry and Betty, Glasgow, MT. He was preceded in death by his father on March 21, 2001; a brother, Robert and a nephew, Jeffrey.
