Larry Leon Spangler was born on December 11, 1946 at West Point, NE to Bob and Donna (Hyland) Spangler. He was baptized on December 15, 1946. Larry attended rural school in Cuming County. He was employed at Norfolk Rendering for several years. Larry had been residing in Blair, NE for the last several years. Larry had a fascination with semi tractors, whether he was collecting toy versions of them or visiting with drivers any chance he could. This summer Larry was given the ride of a lifetime when Hospice arranged for a ride in a 2016 through the Truck Center Companies of Omaha, NE. Larry also enjoyed all of the activities at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Community in Blair, NE. Survivors include- Sister- Connie Carstens of Blair, NE Nieces- Monica Carstens and fiancé Mike Woolman of Omaha, NE Tiffany Carstens of Omaha, NE Great Nieces- Breanna Carstens and Jayda Cribbs of Omaha, NE Great-Great Nephew- Aidyn Coleman of Omaha, NE Aunt- Bonnie Sorensen of Corona, CA Numerous cousins also survive him. Larry was preceded in death by his parents and several aunts and uncles." Minnick Funeral Home, Wisner, Nebraska. Contributed by MrsB, member 47910340: Pastors Coral Parmenter and Amy Krejcarek conducted the funeral and offered words of comfort. (Pastor Coral is from the United Methodist Church of Christ, and Pastor Amy from Good Shepherd Lutheran Home). The hymns were "In The Garden" and "Amazing Grace". Casket bearers were Randy and Brian Spangler, Scott and Dale Sorensen, Mike Woolman and Harold Benedict.
