Read More	Larry Lloyd Weld was born on October 12, 1949, to Clifford and Frances Weld in Elma, WA. He passed away on November 10, 2013 in Olympia, WA. Larry possessed many attributes. He was a devoted father, grandfather, husband, brother, and friend to everyone around him. He was a phenomenal athlete at Elma High School excelling in both football and basketball. He started at quarterback for Elma High's Varsity team at the mere age of 14. He graduated from Elma High School in 1967. After High school, he attended Centralia Community College prior to being drafted in the U.S. Army. He served in the army as a medic for 2 years and was stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. After serving in the military, Larry came back to Elma and began logging. He was an extremely hard worker and during this time he played many years of slow pitch softball as well. His logging career concluded after 34 years. Larry was always physically active and loved being outdoors. Prior to his passing, Larry spent the past few years working in downtown Elma at Bayview Lumber. Larry was a completely dedicated fan to all local Sports teams. He spent plenty of time following the Elma Eagles, Washington Huskies, Seahawks, and the Mariners. His true passion though was Washington Husky football. Larry created the greatest of memories taking his sons up to Husky Stadium to several "Husky Picture Days," along with several games. Perhaps the most memorable Husky moment Larry ever had involved road-tripping down to the 2001 Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA with his brother Doug. Other interests include Old Western films and T.V. programs, and the thrills of roller coasters. He is preceded in death by his parents Clifford and Frances Weld, his brother Virgil Weld, and his son Colin Mark Weld. A funeral service was held Nov. 15 at 11:00 A.M. at Whiteside Family Mortuary in Elma. A graveside service followed at Elma Masonic Cemetery along with a reception at the Elma Eagles Club.
