Description	:	Larry Martin Larry Max "Abe" Martin, 63, of Seymour, Iowa, died Saturday, December 13, 2003, at the Golden Age Care Center in Centerville, Iowa. Larry was born November 6, 1940, in Moravia, Iowa, the son of Max Arlie and Laura Jean (Oehler) Martin. He was raised in the Moravia area and attended local schools graduating with the Class of 1958. Read More	Larry Martin Larry Max "Abe" Martin, 63, of Seymour, Iowa, died Saturday, December 13, 2003, at the Golden Age Care Center in Centerville, Iowa. Larry was born November 6, 1940, in Moravia, Iowa, the son of Max Arlie and Laura Jean (Oehler) Martin. He was raised in the Moravia area and attended local schools graduating with the Class of 1958. Larry then attended the Centerville Community College drafting program. In 1963, he was drafted into the U.S. Army and served his country until his discharge in 1965. He was united in marriage to Darlene Carpenter August 13, 1966, in Des Moines, Iowa. He later moved to Ottumwa, Iowa and worked for UPS for a time before moving to Seymour where he was employed by Shivvers as a draftsman. In later years, he worked various jobs as his health permitted. Larry enjoyed hunting, running hounds, riding mules, watching ballgames and westerns, reading and spending time with his grandchildren. He attended the United Brethren Church in Moravia. Larry is survived by his mother, Laura Jean Martin of Corydon; his daughters: Laura Horton and her husband, Jim, of Plano, Lana Clark and her husband, Scott, of Seymour and Lisa Veach and her husband, Cody, of Pleasantville; his grandchildren: Dusty and Dillon Horton, Chase, Chet and Casey Clark and Dally and Davin Veach; his brother Terry Martin of Arispe; his sisters Joyce Dicks and her husband, Donald, of Moravia, Judy Hawk and her husband, Richard, of Moravia, and his sister-in-law, Kathy Martin, of Pleasantville. Along with nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by his father, his granddaughter, Jessica Horton, his uncles Archie Martin, Keith Martin and Duke Oehler. Funeral services were held December 17, 2003, at the Seymour United Methodist Church in Seymour with Pastor Vickie Steffes officiating. Burial followed in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Moravia. The Luscan Funeral Home in Unionville, Mo., was in charge of arrangements. A memorial has been established to the Seymour Youth Ball Association and contributions may be left at or mailed to the Luscan Funeral Home.
