Description	:	Larry was born the son of Murray and Leola Ulrey. Larry was the youngest of six children. One sister survives him. As a small child and after the death of his father, Larry moved to South Dakota with his family. He was on his own by the age of fourteen. Larry met Shirley Helm in 1961 in South Dakota, and the two were married the next year on the 8th of March. The couple moved to Illinois in search of work, and lived there for five years. In 1967 Larry moved his family to Colfax. Soon Larry began a 36 year long career with the McGregor Company. He was a welder in the shank shed at Mockonema. Larry loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. He was an avid racing fan and loved NASCAR and he liked listening to country music. He and Shirley liked spending time at the Colfax Elks before it closed. Larry is survived by his wife Shirley at their Colfax home; 3 sons, Les and Don both of Moses Lake and Daren of Colfax; 6 grandchildren, Victoria, Halie, Jayce, Amber, Ryan and Brandie; 1 great-grandchild, Aden; and a sister, Vonna. Larry Neil Ulrey died at the age of 68 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Manatee, Florida on May 27th 1940 to Murray and Leola Ulrey. Larry was the youngest of six children. Larry's health problems began at the age of 55 when he suffered the first of a series of heart attacks. There followed his struggles with cancer. Larry died at his Colfax home in the early hours of April 30th 2009. His final service will be on Monday, May 4th at 2:00 PM at the Bruning Funeral Home. Interment in the Colfax cemetery will follow.
