Description	:	Larry was born in 1941 in Seattle, Washington to Alvin C and Opal (Fox) Oglesby. In 1946 they were living in Maywood, California and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in 1948. Read More	Larry was born in 1941 in Seattle, Washington to Alvin C and Opal (Fox) Oglesby. In 1946 they were living in Maywood, California and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in 1948. In 1951 the family moved to central Illinois (work opportunity for Alvin). They finally settled in Delavan, Illinois where Larry went to school 1st thru high school graduation in 1959. (it's been told to me that Larry read each page of the Encyclopaedia Britannica during study hall while in high school) In the fall of 1959 Larry became the 1st in the family to attend college at the Indiana Institute of Technology in aeronautical engineering. In 1962 he married Phyllis E. Schoenrock in Trinity, Iowa. Larry started working as Pratt & Whitney in Hartford, Connecticut with a short stint in Florida before returning to Connecticut. Larry and Phyllis divorced. In 1984 Larry married Janet Rumball in Weathersfield, Connecticut After more than 20 years Larry left Pratt & Whitney, moving to Fremont, California with a new start up company. Later he worked for Praxair and began flying to the Southeast Asia area regularly for work. He made many friends overseas and they kept in contact to this day. Larry and his second wife, Janet retired and moved to Henderson, Nevada, then St. Croix , U S Virgin Islands, Sun City, Florida, then back to Henderson. Proceeding Larry in death were his parents, twin children, Bradley Thomas and Tara Rene, twin grand nephews Jonathan Russell and Joshua David Oglesby. Surviving are his children Scott Oglesby and his wife Charity, and Laurin Smith and her husband Doug. She is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Luke, Amanda and Maddie Smith.; sister Dolores Conover in Texas, Alvin Oglesby in Illinois, Jerry Oglesby in Illinois, and half brother William Thomas Oglesby in Virginia. Larry will be cremated, per his wishes. Services will be 27 April 11AM at Palm Boulder Highway Mortuary & Cemetery
