Condolences may be sent online to www.christensenvanhouten.com Larry W. Albers the son of Walter and Florence (Rehse) Albers was born on January 24, 1943 in Battle Creek, IA. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at the Mid Way Lutheran Church of rural Battle Creek. Larry graduated from Battle Creek High School with the class of 1961. After high school Larry farmed. On February 22, 1964, Larry married the love of his life Janice Harrison at St. John’s Lutheran Church of Battle Creek. The couple settled on a farm outside of Battle Creek and were blessed with two children Dave and Renea. Larry continued to farm and worked in maintenance for the Ida County Court House for two years until he retired. Larry loved to farm. He also enjoyed collecting Case IH toy tractors, watching old western movies, cheering on his beloved Yankee’s and Hawkeyes, attending his granddaughter’s events, and spending time with his family. Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 53 years Janice Albers of Battle Creek, IA; son Dave (Karen) Albers and their daughter Brynn of Yankton, SD; daughter Renea (Pat) Saunders and their daughter Brittney of Lawton, IA; brother-in-law Jim (Sue) Harrison of AZ; sisters-in-law Ethel Albers of Correctionville, IA and Ruth Harrison of MN; and many nieces and nephews.
