(Spike) and Pauline (King) Burgess. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He attended kindergarten to 6th grade in Minden and then attended 7th and 8th grade in Norman and graduated from Minden High School in 1957. On September 14, 1957, he married Betty Johnson. They later divorced. On November 21, 1980, he married Paula Lammers and they lived in Minden. Larry joined his father in the family business in the late 1950's and later became president of the Burgess Well Company, Inc. in Minden. Larry's interests included Chevy trucks, classic car shows, hunting, fishing and music. Larry always paid attention to detail. He was meticulous about his cars and keeping them clean; he was a Husker fan. He was a generous and caring person and spent his life loving and enjoying his family and friends. Survivors include his wife, Paula of Minden; son, Larry, Jr. of Wasilla, Alaska; three daughters, Teresa J. Sumstine and her husband Mike of Minden, Barbara Loper of Holdrege, and Crystal Koehn and her husband Kevin of Goodyear, AZ; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; his mother, Pauline Burgess of Yuma, CO; two sisters, Karol Estes of Sioux City, Iowa, and Karla Graham of Brush, CO; and inlaws, Don and JoAnn Lammers of Minden, and Connie and Robert Griffin of Lincoln. He is preceded in death by his father, L. W. "Spike" Burgess; and his grandparents, John and Alice Burgess and Paul and Lara King. Larry reaffirmed his faith on August 16, 2008, and became a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Minden.
