Glendening, were held Sunday afternoon at the Nazarene church for Mrs. Laura Stiverson, resident of this county since 1915, who died Thursday of last week after an illness of a few weeks. Arrangements were In charge of the Lockwood Mortuary and burial was in Glendale cemetery. Laura Alice Shelley, daughter of Margaret and Adam Shelley, was bom in Scott County, Virginia, on April 16, 1861, and departed this life at her home in Wray on July 4, 1946, at the age of 85 years, 2 months and 18 days. Laura Alice Shelley, daughter of Margaret and Adam Shelley, was bom in Scott County, Virginia, on April 16, 1861, and departed this life at her home in Wray on July 4, 1946, at the age of 85 years, 2 months and 18 days. She was one of a family of twelve children, all of whom preceded her in death. At the age of four, she, with her parents, moved from Virginia to Indiana by covered wagon, later moving to Illinois where she grew to womanhood. While in Illinois she met and married Marquis Stiverson on March 11, 1880, and to this union four children were born: William Ora, who preceded her in death; Jasper Franklin of Bethany, Oklahoma; Winnie Ethel Sutton of Wray, and Twila Opal Vandegrift of Pasadena, California. Her husband, Marquis, preceded her in death on February 22. 1938. Besides the surviving children she leaves to mourn her passing thirty grandchildren, forty-seven great grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren, a number of nieces and nephews, and and host of friends. In the fall of 1915, she and her husband moved to Armel, Colorado, later moving to the Wray community In the spring of 1926. Early In life she became a Christian and was a member of the Armel Methodist church. Later she put her membership in the Church of the Nazarene at Wray.
