Nesheim, 94, of Sioux Falls, SD, passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at the Sanford Centennial Hospice Cottage. Laura B. Nesheim, daughter of Severt and Ida (Iverson) Nesheim, was born on May 10, 1916, in Sherman, SD. She grew up there and received her education, graduating from Sherman High School. In 1941, she moved to Sioux Falls, SD, with her sisters and later began a career with John Morrell and Company. She worked in the company store for 36 years until retiring in 1978. She remained at her home in Sioux Falls and later resided at the Inn on Westport. Laura loved to have a good time with friends and family. She would often travel and go out to dinner with her girlfriends. She liked to bowl and would play tennis when time permitted. Laura was a member of First Lutheran Church, Sioux Falls Christian Women, the Sons of Norway, and was active in the Rachel Circle at church. An extremely kind spirit, Laura maintained a great sense of humor throughout her whole life. She had the most pleasant personality and was simply enjoyable to be around. Grateful for having shared her life are her 15 nieces and nephews; two brothers-in-law, Jim Healy and Howard Johnson; and many other relatives and friends. Laura was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Beatrice Mason, Kila Healy, Eunice Johnson, Jean Faris; and four brothers, Sylvin, Perry, Lars, and Gordon Nesheim. Visitation will begin at 6 pm with the family present from 6 to 7:30 pm on Friday, March 25, 2011, at Miller Funeral Home, 13th & Main. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, March 26, 2011, at the First Lutheran Church Christ the Victor Chapel with burial at the Norway Lutheran Cemetery.
