Services were held October 18, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Mott, with the Reverend Scott Bauman of Charity Lutheran Church in Bismarck officiating. Laura Bauder was born August 10, 1910, near Tyndall, South Dakota, the daughter of Edward Bauder and Katherine Schortzmann. She attended country school in the area. On December 11, 1928, Laura married Frank Pekas Jr. in Tyndall, They farmed in the Tripp, South Dakota, area until moving to a farm northwest of Mott in 1932, where they farmed until 1949, when they moved into Mott. She lived there until entering the Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center in Bismarck in February 1998. Laura loved baking, gardening, crocheting and fishing, and she especially loved her grandchildrern. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Mott. Survivors include two sons, Harvey (Mary Ann) Pekas, Mott, and Lloyd (Kristen) Pekas, Minneapolis; two daughters, Elvera (Reinhardt) Gruebele, Glen Ullin, and LaVerne (Joe) Morrissette, Bismarck; three sisters, Bertha Mogck, Mitchell, South Dakota, Maggie Schneider, Michigan, and Sadie Suess, Scotland, South Dakota; eight grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; one one son-in-law, Kenneth and his wife Dorothy Kibbel. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son; one daughter; one grandson; two brothers; and five sisters. Evanson-Jenson Funeral Home, Mott.
