Burial will be in the St. Ignatius Catholic Cemetery, St. Ignatius, Montana. Laura Bernice Soucie was born December 6, 1914, in Florence, the daughter of Francois and Rose (Bourdon) Soucie. She was raised and educated in the Missoula and St. Ignatius schools. She married Arnold Leonard Schliep on August 15, 1936, in St. Ignatius. They made their home on a homestead near St. Ignatius, where they raised their five children. Arnold preceded her in death on November 7, 1979. She was a member of the St. Ignatius Catholic Community Ladies Guild and was quite involved with the prayer chain. She enjoyed doing arts and crafts and playing bingo at the church. Surviving are three sons, Lawrence Schliep, Dennis Schliep and Arnold (Mae) Schliep; two daughters, Janice (Frederick) Cordier and Carol (Alan) Monte; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one sister, Rosie Orr of St. Ignatius; one brother, Joseph (Jeanne) Soucie of Missoula; and one brother-in-law, Asa Yerian. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four sisters, Blanche Kumwald, Julia Yerian, Mary McLeod and Florence Soucie, one brother, Frank Soucie and one brother-in-law, Raymond Orr.
