Roy, 48 of North Ridge Rd. West in Saybrook Twp. Died Saturday (Dec. 31st at the Ashtabula County Medical Center. She was born September 21, 1963 in Ashtabula the daughter of Robert Frary and Virginia (Colvin) Root and has been a lifetime area resident. She graduated from Ashtabula Harbor High School in 1981 and received her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. She was the assistant Director of Nursing at Carrington Park Nursing Home. She is a member of the Saybrook United Methodist Church and attended Conerstone Church in Madison. She was a dedicated nurse who took Mission trips for her church. She enjoyed fishing, gardening and spending time with her children. Surviving her is her husband, Merlin "Butch" Roy; two sons, Brian Roy of Ashtabula and Jason Roy at home.; five brothers, Ron (Barbara) Root of Dayton, Ohio, Bill (Laura) Root of North Kingsville, Steve Root of Bexley, Ohio, Jamie (Suzanne) Root of Fairborn, Ohio and Frank (Tina) Root of Saybrook and a sister, Donna Ruth (Mark) Campana of Stow, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral service will be Thursday (Jan. 5th) at 11:00 AM at the Geneva Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors, 323 South Broadway, Geneva, Ohio with Rev. Jeffrey Stoll of the Saybrook United Methodist Church and Rev. Mark Winner of Conerstone Church officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Geneva. Calling hours will be Wednesday (Jan. 4th) from 5 to 8 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Donor's Choice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
