Description	:	Laura E. Bowman, 97, of Billings, passed away Monday, Nov. 19, 2007, at Eunice Ash Care Center. She was born Dec. 9, 1909 in Rice, Kan., the daughter of Ben and Alberta (Barlett) Blackburn. She was raised in Kansas and was a manager of the Montgomery Wards Catalog Store in Concordia and Salina, Kan., prior to moving to Billings in 1953. She married James A. She was born Dec. 9, 1909 in Rice, Kan., the daughter of Ben and Alberta (Barlett) Blackburn. She was raised in Kansas and was a manager of the Montgomery Wards Catalog Store in Concordia and Salina, Kan., prior to moving to Billings in 1953. She married James A. Bowman in February of 1930 and he preceded her in death in 1983. In Billings, she worked for the ABC Kiddies' Store and knew every child and their clothing in Billings. She retired in 1976. She loved to bake, cook, go to sales and hunt the bargains and travel. She was an active member of the Eastern Star in Kansas and the Edna Hedges Chapter in Billings, where she held all the offices of the star points. She also was a member of the First Baptist Church in Billings. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Alden and Keith Blackburn; and daughter Jeaniene. She is survived by her two sons, John A. Bowman of Billings and James L. (Kay) Bowman of Littleton, Colo.; and one daughter, Janet Parmer of Limon, Colo.; her sister, Nelda Hase of Gainesville, Ga.; six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
