Laura was born July 31, 1918, in rural Prairieburg, Iowa, the daughter of Albert and Elizabeth Holub. She married Richard G. Covington who preceded her in death. She later married Louis Thuman. She enjoyed playing bingo, gardening, crocheting and cooking. She especially enjoyed her family and friends. Laura is survived by her husband, Louis of Cascade; two sons, Richard (Lila) Covington of Monticello and William Covington of Mountain View, Mo.; a daughter, Diane (Scott) LeClere of Monticello; 10 grandchildren, Michael Covington, Deb Nefler, Preston Covington, Bill Covington, Buckley Covington, Bryan Covington, Laurie Chapman, Rick Covington, Shawna Avery and Chad Avery; 21 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bob (Arlene) Holub of Prairieburg and Steve (Beth) Holub of Rock Island; and a sister, Dorothy (James) Erishman of Monticello. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, James; a grandson, Bradley Covington; a brother, Lester Holub; and a sister-in-law, Edna Pegorick.
