Read More	Mrs. Laura Weaver Succumbs at Omaha Funeral Held Sunday The death of Mrs. Laura Waver, 70, former Center, Winnetoon and Creighton resident, occurred last Thursday in an Omaha hospital. News of her demise was a shock to her many friends and acquaintances in this section, few of them knowing she had taken seriously ill, though she had suffered from a diabetic ailment for several years. She was seriously sick but a few days prior to her passing and up to that time had spent part of her time caring for a son, Harry Weaver of Cody, who was also in an Omaha hospital, suffering from tuberculosis. Laura Ellen Kahler was born April 12, 1863 at Liberty, Pa. She was united in marriage to Henry L. Weaver September 6, 1882 and to this union nine children, three sons and six daughters, were born. Two daughters preceded her in death. In 1884 they moved west homesteading in Frontier county, Nebraska. She, with her husband and family, resided in Nebraska all the years of her married life and subsequently with the exception of two years in Arkansas and two in Montana. In the earlier years they experienced the many vicissitudes of pioneer life. In 1905 they came to Knox county and the following year, Mr. Weaver became engaged in the mercantile business at Center. The passing of Mr. Weaver occurred at Center in 1922. In the following several years residence at both Winnetoon and Creighton, she moved with her son, Everett and daughter, Miss Martha to Omaha, where she passed away September 21, 1933 at the age of 70 years, five months and nine days. Besides a host of friends left to mourn her passing are the following sons and daughters, Clyde Weaver, Center; Harry Weaver, Cody, Nebr.; Everett Weaver, Omaha; Mrs. B.C. Davis, North Platte; Mrs. Geo. Moran, Creighton; Mrs. Harry Crandall, Winnetoon; Miss Martha Weaver, Omaha; Mrs. Leone Case, Creighton. Surviving are also 23 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Mrs. Weaver was a respected and kindly woman, a staunch friend and devoted mother. Sacrificial always, that virtue was particularly exemplified in what proved to be among her last days on this earth in her ministration and care for an ailing son. Despite advanced age and fragile health, she gave of her efforts unstintingly. Funeral services were held at the Congregational church at Center Sunday afternoon at 1 o'clock. The church was filled to capacity and the beautiful floral tributes attested to the esteem in which the departed was held. Interment was in Greenwood cemetery at Creighton. The News joins with the many friends of the Weaver family in extending condolences in this their hour of sorrow.
