Description	:	Laura French, daughter of James and Minerva French was born in Chemung Co., N.Y. June 30, 1845. She moved with her parents when a babe to Detroit, Mich. After two years they moved to Clinton Co., Ia. and to Lyman in 1862, where on Jan. 1, 1876 she was united in marriage to C.H. Vorce. In 1884 they came to Knox Co., where Mr. Vorce died ten years later. To this union there were born five children, 2 of whom died in childhood, the other three, Ralph, Ross and Georgia being with their mother through her sickness. In the... In 1884 they came to Knox Co., where Mr. Vorce died ten years later. In the home where she came as a bride there were seven children to whom she loyally gave her service and love as a mother. They are all living today and sincerely mourn her departure. Their names and residence came as follows; C.C. Vorce, New Orleans; Mrs. Nettie Dudley, Rhunback, Iowa; Mrs. Belle Butterfield, Walnut; Mrs. Dora Hoover, San Francisco; Mrs. A. Rundle, Walker, Iowa; W.W. Vorce, Hot Springs, S.D. Mrs. Dudley, Mrs. Butterfield and W.W. Vorce being present at the funeral. She also leaves two brothers, Samuel and Larenzo French of Lyndan, Iowa. Her nephew and niece, Geo. McCone of Julesburg, Colo. and Mrs. Clara Keling of Monroe, Nebr. were also here to care for her through her sickness and be present at the funeral. Mrs. Vorce was essentially a home mother and her many friends will long remember her life of patient cheerful service for her children. She patiently endured the long siege of sickness and suffering and on Friday she peacefully passed out of this life.
