Description	:	Laura was born in Holland to Elsje DeWinter and Hans Mulder. When she was young her father passed away leaving only her mother to care for them. Searching for a better life, in 1887 her mother brought her and her siblings, (Reinhardt Mulder and Margaret Mulder), to the United States. She was only ten years old when they immigrated to the United States on the ship the Zaandam. They settled in Lincoln, Nebraska. When Laura was 20 years old she married Arthur Leonard Ferrier. While living in Lincoln, Nebraska she had three children: Elsie DeWinter Ferrier (1904), Esther Isabelle Ferrier(1906) and John Mulder Ferrier (1907). After the children were born the family moved to Los Angeles, California. Once in Los Angeles, they realized they were unable to financially care for their children. In 1910, regretfully, the children had to be placed temporarily in the Maud Booth Children's Home in Los Angeles. She and her husband visited the children on weekends. To become more secure, she worked as a housekeeper for a private home and her husband Arthur worked as an Architect. Once they became financially stable they were able to bring the children home permanently. They settled in South Gate, California where she watched her children flourish. She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur in 1937. She passed away in 1946 at the age of 69.
