She was the daughter of Fred L. and Rena M. Arnold Lehmann. Laura graduated from the Monticello Community Schools in 1935. She then went on to attend Iowa State Teachers College at Cedar Falls and Coe College. Laura taught in the area schools for many years. Laura Lehmann and Alva Hinrichs were married June 12, 1927 at St. Matthews Lutheran Church. She later worked for the United States Department of Agriculture for 21 years. Alva preceded her in death on February 7, 1970. Laura retired in 1975 from the U.S.D.A. Surviving is a sister, Ida Mulford, Janesville, a sister-in-law, Mabel Fluckiger, Monticello, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Alva, 2 brothers, little Leo and Earl Lehmann, and her long time companion Fred Faust. Laura was a lifelong member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church where she was baptized and confirmed her faith. She had been a member of the American Legion Auxiliary since 1944. Laura enjoyed playing cards with her many friends.
