Description	:	Mrs. Laura Lockwood-Jenks was born in Port Louisa, Iowa, on October 18, 1850. She was the third of eleven children and grew to womanhood in her farm home. On March 7, 1873, she was married to Hezekiah J. Chinn at the home of her parents in Grandview, Iowa, and previous to that time she had been a teacher. The children of this marriage were Raleigh W. Chinn, and Talmage Chinn, now of Pyramid, Colo., Mrs. James Howard of Iola, Mrs. R. K. Cotton of Boulder, Colo., and Mrs. James Foraker, of Wichita. She was the third of eleven children and grew to womanhood in her farm home. On March 7, 1873, she was married to Hezekiah J. Chinn at the home of her parents in Grandview, Iowa, and previous to that time she had been a teacher. The children of this marriage were Raleigh W. Chinn, and Talmage Chinn, now of Pyramid, Colo., Mrs. James Howard of Iola, Mrs. R. K. Cotton of Boulder, Colo., and Mrs. James Foraker, of Wichita. Thirty-eight years, ago the family moved from Iowa to Arkansas City, where they lived until the death of her husband. Mrs. Chinn then went to live with her daughter in Wichita. Two years ago Mrs. Chinn was married to Homer Jenks, of Midland, Ark., but his death occurred in the following year and Mrs. Jenks returned to her daughter in Wichita, where her health soon failed. Late in June of this year she came to Iola to live with her daughter here, and for two months past she has been ill at the Sanitarium, where she passed peacefully away at 3:15 Tuesday morning, September 7, 1915. The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at the home of her daughter, 2 1/2 West Jackson avenue, and burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Rev. C.B. Zook, of the First Methodist church will have charge of the funeral service, which is most fitting as Mrs. Jenks was a life-long Methodist. Iola Register September 7, 1915 pg. 2
