Description	:	LE MARS, IOWA -- Mrs. Leonard (Laura) Campbell, 81, a Le Mars native and lifelong resident, passed away Friday, Oct. 13, 2006, at Plymouth Manor in Le Mars following a lengthy illness. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. James Catholic Church in Le Mars, with the Rev. James Tigges officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery at Le Mars. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Monday, with the family present 2 to 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 to 8 p.m., a combined rosary by the parish and the Catholic Daughters at 4 p.m. and a Scriptural wake service at 7 p.m., at Feuerstein Funeral Home in Le Mars. The former Laura M. Oetken was born June 4, 1925, at Le Mars, the daughter of John and Greatha (Lubben) Oetken. She grew up in the Le Mars area and attended rural school in Grant Township. Laura M. Oetken and Leonard Campbell were united in marriage on April 3, 1945, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Le Mars. Following their marriage, the couple farmed just northwest of Le Mars until 1978, at which time they moved into Le Mars. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Le Mars and the church guild. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. Laura loved her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an avid bowler, an excellent seamstress, and enjoyed reading in her spare time. She cherished the traveling that she and Leonard were able to do together. Above all, she was a great wife and mom. Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Leonard Campbell of Le Mars; four children and their spouses, Kenneth and Lois Campbell of Inwood, Iowa, Donna and Dan Utesch of Akron, Iowa, Bill and Lori Campbell of Le Mars, and Deb and John Anthony of Le Mars; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Alice Reid of San Ramon, Calif., Lucille Slay of San Antonio, Texas, and Marlene Arens and her husband, Tom of Le Mars; two brothers, Herman Oetken of Le Mars, and Don Oetken and his wife, Dixie of Brunsville, Iowa; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Lawrence and Kenneth Oetken. Pallbearers will be Matt Campbell, Nathan Campbell, Steven Anthony, Neal Utesch, Kevin Anderson and Keith Scholten. [Source: The Sioux City Journal; October 15, 2006]
