Description	:	MRS. WILMOTT Laura Mann was born near Union, Broom county, N.Y., August 15, 1830, and died at the home of her daughter, at Lamar, Colorado, January 22, 1911. She came to Cascade, Dubuque county, Iowa, in April, 1849, and was united in marriage to William M. Winchell, December 25, 1850, and lived near Cascade until after the death of her husband, which occurred in April, 1862. Two children were born to this union, Mrs. Annie E. WILMOTT Laura Mann was born near Union, Broom county, N.Y., August 15, 1830, and died at the home of her daughter, at Lamar, Colorado, January 22, 1911. She came to Cascade, Dubuque county, Iowa, in April, 1849, and was united in marriage to William M. Winchell, December 25, 1850, and lived near Cascade until after the death of her husband, which occurred in April, 1862. Two children were born to this union, Mrs. Annie E. Martindale of Dayton, Iowa, and Mrs. Dora F. Beckner of Independence, Iowa. In 1863 she moved to Epworth, Iowa, and later was united in marriage to Benjamin H. Wilmott, who died December 22, 1864. Two children were born to this union, Wallace, who died September 27, 1905, and Mrs. Laura Belle Beckner of Lamar, Colorado. She became a Christian the fall of 1862 and lived a consistant [sic] Christian life. Besides her children she leaves to mourn their loss eight grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Rebecca Briggs, of Epworth, Iowa, and a brother Theodore Mann of Sac City, Iowa, all of whom were present at the funeral except the grandchildren. Besides these there were present Mrs. Anna Hinkley of Mt Vernon, Iowa, a niece, and the family of Harvey Hirous and Thomas Briggs of Epworth, Iowa. The body arrived in Epworth Thursday morning and the funeral services was held at the Hirous home Friday morning, January 27, and the body was laid to rest in the family lot in Highview cemetary [sic], Epworth, Iowa. The following tribute has also been handed to us: The many friends of Mrs. Laura Wilmott were greatly shocked to hear of her death, which occurred on the 22 of January, 1911, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Beckner, at Lamar, Colorado. She had been in poor health about a year. The direct cause of her death was apoplexy. She had been making her home with her daughter, Mrs. Martindale, since Mr. Martindale's death six years ago, but had gone to Colorado to visit her daughter, expecting to return here in the spring. She will be sadly missed. Her cheerful, hearty welcome with which she always greeted her friends, won for her a place in the hearts of many. She lived her beautiful life and like a shock of wheat fully ripe has gone to her reward. To her daughter, Mrs. E.M. Martindale, who has so kindly cared for her in her declining years, her granddaughter, Mrs. M.F. Anderson, and the daughter, Mrs. Beckner, at whose home she died, their many friends extend their sincere and heartfelt sympathy. Farewell, dear mother, sweet thy rest; Weary with years and worn with pain, Farewell until some happy place We shall behold thy face again.
