Mrs. Young has been a consistent member of the Methodist church since early girlhood and until the past few years, when sickness prevented, was always a regular attendant at service. Mrs. Young leaves to mourn her loss besides her husband, one son Mr. Alex Young, who holds a position with the Central Savings Bank and three daughters, Mrs. Lyle of Shubuta, Miss.; Miss Ione Young and Miss Aline Young. Mrs. Young also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Mary Smith of Shreveport and Mrs. Davis of Plain Dealing; four brothers, Messrs. R. C. Prichard, D. M. Prichard of Monroe; Messrs. Alex Prichard, L. Prichard of Texas. The funeral of Mrs. Young was held yesterday afternoon at 3:30 at her late residence and thence to the Methodist church. Rev. C. C. Miller conducted the services. At the home, as the casket rested covered in flowers and surrounded by loved ones, a prayer was offered and selected voices softly sung "Lead Kindly Light." At the church after the scriptural reading, Rev. Miller made touching remarks relative to her Christian character. The choir sang that sweet old song, "Nearer My God To Thee" and Mr. R. M. Chartain, "Sweet Peace," the same song he sung at her daughter's funeral about two years ago. The services closed with prayer, after which the casket was borne out by the pall bearers and followed to the cemetery by a large concourse of friends, where the remains were laid to rest, beside those dear ones gone before. The pall bearers were Messrs. D. M. Stevenson, H. E. Markwood, Jesse Mitchell, L. Evans, A. L. Green, A. M. Thornton.
