Description	:	VERMILLION, S.D. – Laura (Christensen) Turner, 91, of Vermillion died Friday, July 26, 2002, at Sioux Valley Vermillion Care Center. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Dalesburg Baptist Church in rural Beresford, S.d., with the Rev. John Wilzewske officiating. Burial will be in Dalesburg Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Iverson-Siecke Funeral Home in Vermillion. Mrs. Turner was born Oct. 28, 1910, in rural Vermillion, the daughter of Charles Fay and Edna M. (Lowe) Denison. She attended Clay Point rural school, University High School in Vermillion and business school in Missouri. She was employed with the U. S. Navy in the medical and surgery department in Washington, D.C., and the Pentagon. She returned to the Vermillion area in 1949. She married Arnold Christensen on Oct 1, 1949. The couple lived on a farm in the Spirit Mound, S.D., area. Mr. Christensen died Oct. 6, 1976. She married Nicholas Turner on May 7, 1977. He died May 12, 1979. She continued to live on the farm, near Spirit Mound, until entering the nursing home in 1993. She was a member of the Dalesburg Baptist Church, D.D.D. Extension Club and Vermillion Rebekahs. Survivors include a son, two sisters, a sister-in-law, two stepdaughters, and a stepson,. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Nellie; and her brothers, Steven, Charles, John, Harold and Jefferson.
