Description	:	Laurel Leggett, 67, Marshalltown, a former State Center resident, died Wednesday evening at a Marshalltown hospital where he had been admitted on Tuesday. Services will be Saturday from the Redeemer Lutheran Church with the Rev John F Domsch officiating and burial will be in St John's Cemetery, north of State Center. Mr Leggett was born October 24, 1908 in Stanley county, South Dakota, the son of Clarence and Cora E Dougherty Leggett. He received his education in Hardin County and graduated from Iowa Falls High School. During World War II he served in the U.S. Navy and was discharge in 1945. On August 19, 1932 at Morrison, Illinois he was married to Edith Gerke and they made their home in Marshalltown and near State Center. Mr Leggett was employed by Bos Truck Lines for 13 years before returning to Marshalltown in 1965. He was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church. Survivors include his widow; a son, Al Leggett, Marshalltown; a daughter, Mrs Jerry (Joan) Lehrer, Orange, California; two grandchildren; three sisters; Mrs Ralph (Bernice) Allbee and Mrs Delma Berans, both of Eldora and Mrs R (Bessie) Nehring of Owasa. He was preceded in death by a daughter, two brothers and a sister.
