He went home to be with the Lord with his loving family at his side. Lauren was born in Downsville, Md., on May 8, 1937, the son of Helen Rebecca Dick Baker of Hagerstown and the late Walter Russell Baker. He was a graduate of Williamsport High School, Class of 1955. Read More	MAY 8, 1937-FEB. 24, 2007 WILLIAMSPORT - Lauren Earl Baker, 69, 15003 Randall Lane, Williamsport, passed away at Washington County Hospital on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2007. He went home to be with the Lord with his loving family at his side. Lauren was born in Downsville, Md., on May 8, 1937, the son of Helen Rebecca Dick Baker of Hagerstown and the late Walter Russell Baker. He was a graduate of Williamsport High School, Class of 1955. Lauren owned and operated the Baker Insurance Agency of Hagerstown for 50 years, retiring in 2004. He served in the U.S. Army at Fort Knox, Ky. Lauren was a member of Virginia Avenue Church of God in Halfway. Lauren was a life member of Conococheague Tribe 84 Improved Order of Red Men, Williamsport; Morris Frock Post 42 American Legion and AMVETS Post 10, both of Hagerstown; and was a member of the National Rifle Association. Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife of 49 years, Barbara Ann Malott Baker; a daughter, Lori Ann Gardenhour and her husband, Todd Gardenhour; two sons, Timothy Lauren Baker, Hagerstown, and Michael Todd Baker and his wife, Kimberly Baker, of Williamsport; a sister, Janice Arlene Lowry, Hagerstown; two granddaughters, Lauren E. Baker, Halfway, and Morgan E. Baker, Williamsport; eight grandsons, Timothy M. Webb and Christopher M. Baker, both of Hagerstown, and Joshua A. Baker, Justin C. Gardenhour, Zachary G. Baker, Cody A. Gardenhour, Joshua C. Baker and Dillon J. Baker, all of Williamsport. He was preceded in death by a brother, David Harley Baker. Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Virginia Avenue Church of God, with the Rev. A. Paul Harne and the Rev. Ralph Massie officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service, from 1 to 2 p.m., at the church. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Williamsport. Obituary from Herald-Mail.
