Lauren was born September 26, 1924, in Oakland, Nebraska, to William and Esther (Wistrom) Ayers. He grew up in the Oakland area and was a graduate of Oakland High School in 1942. Ayers, 87 yrs, of Fremont, Nebraska, died Thursday, November 24, 2011, at Shalimar Gardens in Fremont. Lauren was born September 26, 1924, in Oakland, Nebraska, to William and Esther (Wistrom) Ayers. He grew up in the Oakland area and was a graduate of Oakland High School in 1942. In 1953, he moved to Fremont, Nebraska, and in 1970, moved back to Oakland. He returned to Fremont in 1975. Lauren married Lola Nisley on July 7, 1979, in Bennet, Nebraska. Lauren was a member of the Fremont Evangelical Free Church since 1981, Fremont Golden K Kiwanis, a Honorary retired member of Teamster Union #554, and Woodmen of the World. He is survived by his wife, Lola of Fremont; step-son, Vernon Morgan of Lesterville, South Dakota; step-daughter, Rea (Don) Pelton, of Ames, Iowa; and brother, Eleroy (Louise) Ayers, of Oakland, Nebraska. He was preceded in death by his parents. The funeral service will be held 2:00 PM, Monday, November 28, 2011, at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont, with Pastor Chad Knudson officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Moser Memorial Chapel, and also Monday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial is at Ridge Cemetery in Fremont.
