She was born December 3, 1916, at Stickney, SD. Her early years were spent in Stickney and she received her education there. On March 4, 1937, she married Hans John Henry Hargens at Stickney, SD. Read More	OBITUARIES LAURENA SOPHIA HARGENS Sunnyside Daily News, July 3, 1989 Laurena Sophia Hargens, 72, longtime Sunnyside resident, died Saturday, July 1, 1989, at the Sunnyside Community Hospital. She was born December 3, 1916, at Stickney, SD. Her early years were spent in Stickney and she received her education there. On March 4, 1937, she married Hans John Henry Hargens at Stickney, SD. They lived and farmed at Stickney until her husband’s death in 1965. She moved to Sunnyside, and for a number of years, was employed as a nurse’s aide at Hillcrest Manor Nursing home in Sunnyside. She retired in October of 1988 and had continued to make her home in Sunnyside. She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church of Sunnyside. Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Joey (Phyllis) Ober of Wagner, SD., one sister Mary Warren of Sunnyside, and her father, John Kluth at the Walnut Grove Nursing Home in Grandview. She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her Mother, Annie Kluth, and by three brothers, Walter, Luvern and Lloyd Kluth. Services were held Monday, July 3, 1989, at 3 p.m., in the Chapel of Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside. Burial will be in the Silver Ridge Cemetery, Stickney, SD.
