He was preceded in death by his Parents, his first wife, Iowa, a son Larry a grandson Billy and 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Laurence E. Ash was born July 5, 1912 at Wood Center, Clayton, County, Iowa. He was the son of Ernest and Ollie Adams, Ash. Laurence farmed most of his life in Clayton County. He married Iowa Smith on November 21, 1931. She preceded him in death on August 17, 1972. Laurence married Elizabeth Redmond Merfeld Pratt on March 23, 1974. The couple made their home in Monticello where they operated Iowa Parcel Service and Emery Air Freight. They delivered to customers in Northeast Iowa and western Wisconsin and Illinois. Laurence had been a member of the Knights of Pythias for over 70 years.
