Lawrence Everette Wile It is with heartfelt sadness that we, the family, announce the sudden passing of our father (Lawrence Everette Wile), 88 of Blockhouse, who passed away January 29, 2004 at Fishermen's Memorial Hospital with his family by his side. He was the son of the late David and Eva (Woodworth) Wile. He is survived by son, Lé Roy (Betty) Wile, Mahone Bay; daughters, Julia (Harold) Zinck, Clearland; Muriel (Geoffrey) Dauphinee, Back Cornwall Road; two grandchildren, Christopher (Cathy) Wile, Maders Cove; Carole, New Brunswick; two great-grandchildren, Kiana and Kesha Wile, Maders Cove; one sister, Nellie Heim, Chelsea; one brother-in-law, Bernard Conrad, Harbour View Haven, Lunenburg; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Lillian (Church); sisters, Violet Conrad, Geraldine Faulkenham, Hazel Faulkenham, Josephine Beck. There was no visitation at the funeral home by Dad's request. Lawrence served in the army for several years, and later went to work at the Pace Ships, now ABCO, Mahone Bay, as a janitor, retiring after 33 years. A memorial service was held 2 p.m., Monday, February 2, 2004 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Mahone Bay, Rev. Paul Jensen officiated. Burial of ashes took place at the Garden of Rest Cemetery, Blockhouse. Hymns sung were "The Old Rugged Cross," and "How Great Thou Art." Memorial donations were made to St. John's Lutheran Church, Mahone Bay; Garden of Rest Cemetery, Blockhouse; VON Society Foundation; Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation; St. Mark's Lutheran Church, New Cornwall; SHAID Animal Shelter; Mahone Bay Fire Department.
