Larry was born July 22, 1929, in Moulton, Neb. to Clarence and Ella(Roblyer)Hennings. He was raised in Loup County Nebraska, attending grade school near Almeria and high school in Taylor. After graduation Larry worked as a bank clerk at the Bank of Burwell and later at the Bank of Palmer Nebraska. During that time he met his future wife Marrian "Marge" Armstrong, a schoolteacher from Colorado who was teaching at a rural school near Comstock. They were married at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sargent, Neb. on Aug. 30, 1950.Larry was inducted into the Army in December 1951 and served on Okinawa during the Korean War as a Corporal in the Finance division. In early 1952 Larry was summoned for a very short but adventurous trip home upon the birth of his first child then he returned to the war until his discharge in 1953. After the war, Larry began a twenty-three year career with F.W. Woolworth in Englewood Colorado. His career took him to Nebraska, Montana and Wyoming as he advanced to store manager. During this time five more children joined the family with each child being born in a different city. Larry opened a new Woolworth store in Cody, Wyo. where the family lived until Larry retired from the company in 1977. He was an active and respected member of the Cody Chamber of Commerce and well known for his classic cars and car restoration work. The family then moved from Cody to Bridger, Mont. where Larry and Marge opened and operated a hardware store. During their time in Bridger, Larry also volunteered as an Emergency Medical Technician. After their youngest child graduated from high school, they sold the business and moved to Lewistown, Mont., and then to Kimball, to be close to family.Survivors include his wife Marge; children, Deborah (Terry) Phillips, David (Marilyn), Gary, Steven (Julianne), Kathleen, and Pamela Marsh; grandchildren, Donald, Brian, Jennifer, Erin, John, Laura, Jenna and Connor; great-grandchildren, Sheldon, Ethan, Jackson, Sydney, Parker, Olivia, John Henry and Sarah. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, brother Donald and sister Phyllis Holmes. The Star-Herald February 27, 2013
