He was born October 28, 1928 in Rogers, NE to William and Caroline (Dietrich) Dunker. He grew up in the Rogers, NE area and graduated from Schuyler High School. "Larry" Dunker, 84 years, of Bennington, NE died Sunday, December 16, 2012 at Lakeside Hospital in Omaha, NE. He was born October 28, 1928 in Rogers, NE to William and Caroline (Dietrich) Dunker. He grew up in the Rogers, NE area and graduated from Schuyler High School. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force just after WWII from Aug. 1, 1946 to July 31, 1949 and was stationed in Japan. He returned to the Schuyler area and then moved to Omaha in 1956. He lived in Nebraska City for a short time, then moved to Lincoln until returning to Omaha. Larry married Nadine Asche on September 29, 1956 in Columbus, NE. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church at Omaha; the Carpenters' Union and a life member of V.F.W. He was a former Boy Scout Leader. His hobby was Bee Keeping. He is survived by wife, Nadine; sons, Todd & wife, Barb Dunker of Waterloo, NE, Lance & wife, Michele Dunker of Blair, NE, Clark Dunker and special friend, Lorie Jenkins of Omaha and Curt & wife, Anna Dunker of Dallas, TX; daughter, Laurel & husband, Mitch Keebler of Omaha; brothers, Gordon & wife, Margaret Dunker and Robert "Bob" & wife, Virginia Dunker all of Schuyler, NE; sister, Elaine Ehlers of Schuyler, NE; 9 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Mary Jane & husband, Elmer Vanheuflen. Funeral service is 11 AM, Wednesday, Dec. 19th at Zion Lutheran Church, 14205 Ida St, Omaha, NE. The Rev. Tom Schmitt will officiate. Visitation on Tuesday from 4 PM to 8 PM with the family receiving friends on Tuesday from 6 PM to 8 PM at Hadan-Golden-Reichmuth Mortuary in Bennington, NE. Visitation on Wed. at church 1hr prior to service. Burial will be at Flower Hill Cemetery in Omaha. Memorials may be given to the donor's choice.
