Lauretta C. Fox, the daughter of Albert and Ethel (Corey) Brandriet was born on August 4, 1918 on a farm near Waverly, SD. She attended consolidated school in Waverly and graduated from Waverly High School. After moving to Watertown, she worked for the U.S. Treasury Office and the Kresge Co. doing office work. She married Alois F. Fox on November 9, 1940 in Watertown and the couple moved to the family farm. She raised eight children and played a big part in running the farm, first in the potato business and then in the registered Holstein cattle business. Lauretta was instrumental in producing one of the finest Registered Holstein herds. After retiring, selling the cattle and renting out the land, she worked in the office at Watertown Housing and the Landan Corp. for 15 years. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church. She enjoyed reading, watching TV, and keeping up with the news, however, her biggest love was working and helping people. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her children, Greg and Kathy. She is survived by her three daughters, Valois (Dr. James) Lantz of Fargo, ND, Marion Johnson of Aberdeen, and Lauretta "Lolly" (Darrell) Olson of Brookings; three sons, Alan (Jane) Fox of Watertown, Dr. Steve (Debby) Fox of Tempe, AZ, and A. Jeffrey Fox of Watertown; one sister, Phyllis Lindner of Aberdeen; one brother, Donald Brandriet of Waverly; 15 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SJW # 46933521 provided links to parents. 7-26-2018
