Description	:	LaVain Lee Nordman was born in Sioux Falls, SD on July 18, 1965, the son of Kenneth and Loretta (Vietor) Nordman. He grew up in Lennox where he attended grade school and graduated from Lennox High School in 1983. While in high school he was on the State Champion Football Team in 1982. They made their home in Lennox where... Read More	LaVain Lee Nordman was born in Sioux Falls, SD on July 18, 1965, the son of Kenneth and Loretta (Vietor) Nordman. He grew up in Lennox where he attended grade school and graduated from Lennox High School in 1983. While in high school he was on the State Champion Football Team in 1982. He also was a star wrestler, having placed 2nd in the State Class A Heavyweight Tournament in 1983. On July 27, 1985 he was married to Sandra Woods on the lawn at her parental home in Worthing. They made their home in Lennox where he was employed with Nordman Construction Company and also DJ's Auction in Worthing. He was a member of St. Magdalen's Catholic Church in Lennox and was active in the Lennox Jaycees and he volunteered coaching young wrestlers in Lennox. He enjoyed all forms of wildlife, especially hunting. He also enjoyed showing horses with his boys. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, LuVerne and Doris Vietor, Harm Nordman, and Polly Freese and step-grandpa, Bill Freese. LaVain developed encephalitis in 1992. He remained in a coma for nearly seven years at Southridge Health Care Center in Sioux Falls. He died there early Friday morning August 14, 1998, having attained the age of 33 years, 26 days. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Sandra; his four children: Payton (12), Preston (11), Paxton (9), and Jessica (8); his parents, Kenneth and Loretta Nordman; two brothers: Troy Nordman and his wife Brandie and Travis Nordman; three sisters: Tracy Dykstra and her husband, David, Kimberly Nordman and Tanya Schmidt and her husband, John, all of Lennox; his mother-in-law and father-in-law: Shirley and Duane Woods of Worthing; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Patty and Bob Seuntjens of Kingsley, IA, Jim and Laura Woods of Canton, and Mary Jo Woods of Worthing; eight nieces and nephews, a special aunt: Taunte Rose Miller of Sioux Falls; plus several other relatives and friends.
