A Concordia High School and Teacher's College graduate, she taught elementary school in Washington, Iowa, California, and Missouri. LaVaughn and Dwayne L. Fenster were united in marriage on April 25, 1953 at Davenport, IA. Following their move to York in 1971, LaVaughn was employed at Higgins Studio. A Concordia High School and Teacher's College graduate, she taught elementary school in Washington, Iowa, California, and Missouri. LaVaughn and Dwayne L. Fenster were united in marriage on April 25, 1953 at Davenport, IA. Following their move to York in 1971, LaVaughn was employed at Higgins Studio. She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in York where she enjoyed singing in the choir. She could often be found working in her yard or at the YGH Wellness Center which was as much a social event for her as it was a health benefit. LaVaughn was preceded in death by her parents; husband Dwayne; sisters: Eleanore Roth and Virginia Hoerle; and brothers: William, Milton, and Gene Roth. Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in York. Interment was in St. John Cemetery, south of Waco, NE.
