Description	:	LaVeda Youngson, 99, of Minden died Friday, March 2, 2012, at Bethany Home in Minden. Memorial services were held Tuesday at Minden United Methodist Church with the Rev. Nancy Lambert officiating. Graveside services were at Minden Cemetery before the memorial service. She was born Sept. 8, 1912, in Lebanon, Kan., to Miles and Delilah (Watson) Hoag. Nancy Lambert officiating. Graveside services were at Minden Cemetery before the memorial service. She was born Sept. 8, 1912, in Lebanon, Kan., to Miles and Delilah (Watson) Hoag. On Oct. 5, 1940, she married Elmer Youngson in Las Vegas. He preceded her in death. Survivors include her son, Steve Youngson and his wife, Carol, of Louisville, Ky.; granddaughter, Ashley Youngson; sisters-in-law, Ella Hoag of Grand Island and Violet Duckworth of Grand Junction, Colo.; and nephews, Mike Hoag and his wife, Mary Pat, of Norfolk, Jim Hoag of Grand Island and James and Jeanette Wilkinson of Minden. She graduated from Wood River High School in 1931. She was a licensed cosmetologist and worked in and managed a beauty shop in Grand Island. During World War II, she lived in Glendale, Calif. In 1950, she and Elmer returned to Nebraska and eventually settled in Minden. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Minden and enjoyed volunteering for the church and Bethany Home. She enjoyed many hobbies, including sewing, crocheting, crafts and playing cards with her many friends. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Duane Hoag.
